Bendigo Hawks: Squad 3

Squad 3 of Bendigo Hawks

 Aims to help the swimmer achieve their full potential in the pool intern becoming a serious competitive swimmer. While still enjoying the atmosphere with the lanes  

Unlike Squads 1&2 the focus for Squad 3 is to keeps the skills learnt in Squads 1&2 while focusing on improving on swimmers fitness level. A swimmer of this Squad should be thinking about goals/ times that they may be achieving in the near future (District, Country, State, National). 

 

       In this squad swimmers will:

 

Train Freestyle, Backstroke, Breastroke.

Train/ Refine Butterfly stroke

Implement race strategies and race skills

 

As well as Swimming at BHA, we also provide the opportunity for our swimmers to experience 'Dryland'. This is where swimmers do a series of body weight or light weight exercises (e.g. running, sit-ups, push-ups) to eventually enhance the participants swimming abilties. For Squad 3 only members of this Squad are allowed to attend a gym sessions under the supervision of professionals. 

 

*If parents do not wish their child to do dryland or gym for any cirumstance this is absolutley fine they will just swim instead

Dryland Session: 4:30pm-5:00pm

Swim Session: 5:00pm-  6:30pm or 7:00pm

Gym Session: 4:30pm-  5:30pm

Swim Session: 5:00pm-  6:30pm or 7:00pm

It is advised that swimmers attend training as much as possible (so they don't miss out) but in the circumstance of being unwell, away or other commitments etc. it would be very nice to let your coach know
